India’s star middle-order batsman, Virat Kohli, has registered an unwanted record as he was dismissed for a golden duck in the ongoing Test match against England. Kohli became the Indian captain with the most number of ducks in Test cricket.

This was Kohli’s ninth duck and third golden duck of his Test career, which is the most for an Indian captain in Test history. Previously, the record was held by the former captain, MS Dhoni, who had been dismissed for a duck eight times in his career.

The 32-year old was dismissed by the veteran English fast-bowler, James Anderson, for a golden duck as England staged a comeback in the second innings of the opening Test. This was Kohli’s second consecutive duck against England in England.
Kohli’s dismissal left India in a difficult position as they finished the day on 125/4 despite a solid start of 97/0. Earlier in the Test match, England was dismissed for 183 in the first innings, with Indian pace bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, picking up four wickets.
