Pakistan Ranks Just Below India on World Test Championship Points Table

Pakistan registered their first points on the 2021-2023 World Test Championship table after a convincing win against the West Indies in the second Test match.

Pakistan is now ranked number two in the table with twelve points and a 50.00 percentage of points, having played one series. They narrowly missed out on twelve points in the first Test match after losing to the West Indies by only one wicket.

Pakistan’s arch-rivals, India, currently lead the charts with one win and one draw, having a total of 14 points and 58.33 percentage of points. West Indies are ranked in third place, and England is ranked at fourth. Only these four teams have played in the current cycle of the World Test Championship.

Pakistan’s next five series in the 2021-2023 World Test Championship are against Bangladesh and Sri Lanka away from home and against Australia, New Zealand, and England at home. According to the schedule, all three teams are set to tour Pakistan for the full Test series next year.

Pakistan cricket team will be looking for a better showing in this edition of the World Test Championship as they finished sixth in the leaderboards in the inaugural edition of the competition.

The rankings of the teams are decided on the percentage of points. 100 percent of points are awarded for a win, 50 percent for a tie, 33.33 percent for a draw, and zero percent for a loss. Points are also deducted for slow over rates with one point deducted for each over short.
