Pakistan’s head coach, Misbah-ul-Haq tested positive for Covid-19 on Wednesday and did not travel back to Pakistan with the rest of the squad. According to reports, Misbah is asymptomatic and will have to spent a minimum of ten days in quarantine. He will travel back to Pakistan once he tests negative for the virus.
The 47-year old was the only member of the touring party to return two consecutive positive tests. The other members of the national team have already traveled back to Pakistan on Wednesday.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has been in constant contact with Cricket West Indies, who have assured the best possible facilities for the head coach. They confirmed that Misbah will be shifted to another hotel for his ten-day quarantine period and medical personnel will be appointed for him to look after his health and needs.
Pakistan’s tour of the West Indies was a successful one for the Men in Green despite being largely affected by rain. The four-match T20I series was won 1-0 by Pakistan as three T20Is were washed out due to constant rain. Pakistan managed to draw the Test series 1-1 as well, making a comeback in the second Test after losing the first Test by an agonizingly close margin of one wicket.
