The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has decided to conduct a massive operation to eliminate the encroachments made by car dealers and showroom owners and others on footpaths and parking areas in different sectors of Islamabad.
The CDA has sent a final notice to car deals and showroom owners to remove encroachments. According to the notice, illegal encroachments are hindering pedestrian movement in different sectors. If the encroachments are not removed, CDA will conduct the operation to remove them.
According to sources, CDA has decided to conduct operations on the complaints of the general public. During the first phase, the operation will be launched against car dealers in G8, Karachi Company. The CDA’s concerned directorate has approached District Administration to assist in the operation.
According to sources, during the operation, several illegally constructed ramps, and illegal structures will be demolished while unattended parked vehicles of car motor dealers and showrooms in the public parking area will be shifted to police stations.
According to CDA, due to encroachments made by car dealers, pedestrian movement is hindered, and citizens have to face difficulties in parking due to illegitimate ramps constructed by car dealers and showroom owners as well as illegal occupiers on footpaths and parking areas.

Well Done CDA do it immediately
Very well needed and immediately needed… and should be very stricted and also should be very confidential operations, as in recent past has been seen that whenever operations of CDA is taken.. some of misbehave staff of the same department of the CDA call or give report to the target area.. and they treated them as a fake visit to be clear and according to rules… it should be very confidential and all equally to the law. Sulerb work.. superb idea… must action 100%.
Also action take to the guest houses in residential areas, school in residential streets and working offices in the resident areas. As all above said business and their outdoor staff keeping eyeing and noted the movement of neighbours, parking misbehaves.. and security problems.. while some of neighbours (if they are going outside of town for couple of days or a week) then its very very big security and eye keeping issue.
Good idea to remove the encroachments in public interest. We also request the CDA authority to plan this activity in other sectors as well. Especially in G 11 sector. In this sector two business are serious create problems for everybody. Car Dealers and Q.. Hotels association.
Public and other shop keepers are helpless because both are strong parties.
We hope CDA will consider our request.

Highly appreciate the step CDA has planned, like the surgical operation post operative care is must and in this case also the administration should follow up the Mafia on weekly basis and if they don’t behave another major operation should be planned.

A good move but only if it succeeds. Car dealers are one of the many big mafias in the country. They are a powerful lobby and carry weapons to terrorise the authorities and people. They have occupied parking spaces throughout Islamabad causing great inconvenience to the general public.
I am personally not very hopeful about the success of this operation based on my past experience.

Wrong approach. Instead enchroachers should be heavily fined, in millions of PKR, outlet sealed and notice to remove enchroachments immediately. In case of default enchroachments be removed at the cost of enchroachers. Outlets be unsealed only after payment of fine. There should not be any court relief for such enchroachers.
There are many car dealers in G-11, who have their many vehicles in parking area and when any customer comes, they quarrel the people for parking. CDA should remove them plz, thanks
