The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced on Monday that the moon for the Islamic month of Safar 1446 Hijri was not sighted in any part of the country.
The meetings of the moon-sighting committees, held across the country, were attended by the Meteorological Department and SUPARCO officials.
The zonal moon-sighting committees did not receive reports of the moon being sighted. As a result, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, which held its meeting in Lahore, announced that the moon of Safar was not sighted.
The Ministry of Religious Affairs announced that since the moon was not sighted Tuesday, August 6, will be the 30th of Muharram. Therefore, Safar 1446 Hijri will begin on Wednesday, August 7.
In a press conference, Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad extended his condolences for the deaths of over 40,000 innocent people, including women and children, in Gaza. He emphasized the need for Pakistan to address terrorism and extremism.
Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad also emphasized the importance of patriotism in his message for Pakistan’s Independence Day, stating that loving one’s country is integral to one’s faith.
