Global Soccer Ventures Ex-CEO (Chief Executive Officer) Zabe Khan has stated that he has no association with the Pakistan Football League which has raised a lot of question marks.
While taking to Twitter Zabe Khan stated, “I would like to clarify that I have no affiliation with the Pakistan Football League (PFL). I am neither a shareholder nor an employee of the organization. Additionally, I no longer have any association with Global Soccer Ventures (GSV).”
According to sources two franchises have backed out of the Pakistan Football League introduced by GSV which was going to kickstart its inaugural season on November 10.
Sources claim that those two franchises belong to Quetta and Islamabad which were part of the Pakistan Football League along with six other franchises that were initially going to take part in the inaugural season.
The eight-team league is being organized by PFL UK Holdings led by its chairman and an English businessman of Pakistani origin Farhan Junejo.
Initially, the league announced five franchises during its launching ceremony on June 4, 2024, including Zalmi FC, Lahore FC, Sialkot FC, Faisalabad Lions FC, and Lyari Tigers FC were also announced.
According to sources, three sporting directors have resigned from their respective franchises in the league and there have been reports of financial mismanagement within the league.
Further details regarding the organizing of the PFL will be provided in due time.
