MG to Launch 2025 ZS With Fresh Design and Hybrid Variant

The highly anticipated 2025 MG ZS is set to be officially revealed on August 26, 2024. MG has already teased the new model on social media, showcasing a significant design shift compared to the current ZS and ZST models. The teaser images reveal a fresh front end with a new grille, redesigned headlights, and other elements like the latest MG HS and MG 3 hatchback.

The new ZS is expected to feature major updates both inside and out. Recently, a camouflaged version was spotted in Sydney, hinting at a redesigned interior with a squared-off steering wheel, a T-bar shifter, and a larger infotainment touchscreen with separated air vents.

Engine Specs

Under the hood, the 2025 MG ZS will offer a variety of powertrains, including a new Hybrid+ option. This hybrid setup, also found in the MG 3, combines a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor, delivering a total output of 158kW. MG ZS Hybrid+ is expected to offer improved fuel efficiency and performance compared to the standard petrol variants.

For those preferring traditional engines, the ZS will continue to offer petrol-powered options, including a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre engine and a turbocharged version. The turbocharged engine, similar to what is available in the MG 5 and outgoing HS, produces around 119kW of power and 250Nm of torque.

Launch Date

The new MG ZS will launch in Australia in the fourth quarter of 2024, with petrol models arriving first. The hybrid version will follow in 2025, with an updated ZS EV expected later, possibly in 2026. There has been no announcement by MG Pakistan about an updated ZS launch. However, considering how Australia also has right-hand-drive cars like Pakistan, it won’t be a problem for MG Pakistan to import the necessary CKDs or CBUs.
