Moto G45 Launched With Vibrant Color Options and Leather Back for $130

Motorola has revived its Moto G4x series after a brief hiatus, introducing the new Moto G45 smartphone, initially launched in India. This latest addition to the G series boasts 5G connectivity and comes in a trio of vibrant color options.

Design and Display

The Moto G45 features a 6.5-inch LCD with 720p resolution. While the display technology and resolution are fairly standard, Motorola has incorporated a 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and animations. The screen is protected by a layer of Gorilla Glass 3 for added durability.

Internals and Software

Powering the Moto G45 is the Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset, the same processor found in the Moto G85. This chipset features powerful CPU cores clocked at 2.3 GHz, ensuring smooth performance. Users can choose between 4 GB and 8 GB RAM configurations, while storage is fixed at 128 GB but expandable via a microSD card slot, which doubles as a hybrid SIM slot.

On the software front, the Moto G45 runs on Android 14, and the company emphasizes a bloatware-free experience, a welcome feature for users seeking a clean and efficient software interface.

Cameras

On the rear, the Moto G45 boasts a capable camera system headlined by a 50MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture. This is accompanied by a dedicated 2MP macro sensor for close-up shots.

The front-facing 16MP camera is housed within a punch-hole cutout at the top of the display. Both the front and back cameras can record 1080p videos but at 30 FPS.

Battery and Pricing

Powering the device is a substantial 5,000 mAh battery, ensuring ample usage time. Motorola includes a 20W TurboPower charger in the box for fast charging capabilities.
