The family of the victims involved in a fatal hit-and-run accident in Karachi has formally forgiven the suspect, Natasha Danish, according to an affidavit submitted on Friday.
The accident, which took place last month, claimed the lives of a father and daughter and left several others injured. The case had gained significant media attention due to accusations that authorities were delaying the investigation because of the suspect’s connections.
Natasha Danish, the wife of a prominent businessman, was initially alleged to have been driving the vehicle involved in the incident.
In a recent development, the victims’ family expressed their decision to pardon Natasha in a statement submitted to the court. The affidavit, signed by the widow of one of the victims, stated that the family had reached an understanding with the accused and had chosen to forgive her in the name of God.
It further clarified that this decision was made voluntarily and without external pressure. Though the affidavit did not explicitly mention any financial compensation, the practice of paying “diyat” or blood money as part of settlements is common in such cases in Pakistan.
The court will now take this new information into account during the legal proceedings.
The incident, captured on CCTV, had drawn considerable public and media attention, with many demanding justice for the victims. This latest turn of events brings the legal case closer to resolution.

This is so wrong on so many levels!
The Diyat law is in practice for all wrong reasons.
But then again, whatever is in practice here is wrong!!!
Because we just don’t follow Taqwa at all, which is the biggest reason in my opinion.
Seems rather unfair!

Pakistan Zindabad 😅😅…..
It had happened in the past in the case of Shahrukh Jatoi, in case of a maniac who killed a traffic constable in Lahore, salute to the justice system that suggest the solution to the culprits and criminals that which law is to be applied whether it is Hudood Law, CRPC, CPC, whatever can give relief to the Criminal, the law is applied, same happened in case of Natasha Danish, a Bitch (I must say the word – Bitch), she was drunkard or consumed ICE, so Huddod law suggested which only demands Diyat or Lashes. I salute again to the Justice system in Pakistan that can only punish poor and release rich.
