Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has provided significant relief to consumers by issuing credit adjustments amounting to Rs. 850 million due to overbilling. According to documents, this adjustment, based on 11.6 million units, was credited in last month’s billing cycle.
Following the directives of Federal Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) initiated a crackdown on overbilling, uncovering overcharges worth billions. Since April, LESCO has been offering credit adjustments on bills containing overbilling, with similar relief granted in the August billing cycle.
On the other hand, the complete implementation of the Rs. 14 per unit relief announced by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has not materialized. The relief was only provided to single-phase meter consumers, excluding those with three-phase meters.
LESCO sources confirmed that while the Chief Minister announced relief for single-phase and three-phase consumers, the Ministry directed the relief only for single-phase users. This month, three-phase meter holders will not benefit from the Rs 14 per unit relief, leading many to visit LESCO offices in hopes of rectification.
Only 600,000 single-phase consumers have received this concession. In August, the Punjab government reduced electricity rates by Rs. 14 per unit, promising immediate relief for consumers using up to 500 units in their August and September bills.

What is Ministry of power doing enjoying salary and perks. People should come on streets like in Bangladesh to get their legitimate rights swiftly and fastly or suffer if they can’t fight.
Criminal stops criminal activities and we call it relief. They have cheating public by over billing. They are commiting crime
Two important points. 1. Why should the households having three-phase meters not be extended this facility? Are they being punished for paying heavily to install three-phase meters including actual cost+bribery? 2. Will there be no punishment for those who overbilled the consumers? Why not? Those involved must be taught a lesson. The government should not present this step as it’s achievement. It should rather feel ashamed for overbilling the people.
And by the way, what about IESCO and other companies supplying electricity in other regions?
These Ministers,Political Chamchas and Civil Servants All are **Criminals Earning Money with Corruption and Bribes by Looting Public by these STUPID SCHEMES?***. See Civil Servants Dont Obey and Follow Chief Minister’s Orders to Provide Relief to All Electricity Consumers But they only give relief to Single Phase Users. Now Three Phase User Will Linger On With Agony and Also Excess Billings. Corruption Only???.
No relief given to commercial bills, businesses being destroyed, ppl getting fired as businesses cannot afford to operate anymore. Govt doesn’t care. Commercial electricity is unaffordable.
Date of meter reading is not incorporated in the billing form so far. That is a big question mark?????
Needed to be answered by act not by words.
Still millions of units are pending at Krk division. Why authority is not paying attentions on Krk under kasur circle.
2ndly Meters readers has started recording less units and charge after 5 months to remove the consumer from protected slabs.
After replacement of defective meter they replace defective meter with used meter and then charge units from zero.another kind of over billing.
