The Excise and Taxation Department in Islamabad has launched new Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to improve services and combat the agent mafia. The updated process for buying and registering vehicles aims to make it easier for citizens.
Under the new guidelines, vehicle owners can authorize someone else to register or transfer their vehicle using an authorization letter or through biometric verification. This ensures security and convenience. Biometric verification is also required for anyone collecting the registration card on behalf of the owner.
To enhance accessibility, the Excise Department has introduced a Doorstep Policy, allowing vehicle registration and transfer services to be conducted at home or the office. Mobile vans are also deployed at key locations, such as markets and parks, for on-the-spot registration services.
Citizens can now apply for vehicle registration online and should request a challan ticket to understand all associated government fees. For additional support, a helpline is available at 051-111-383-383 from 8 AM to 4 PM on working days.
Director Excise Bilal Azam encourages citizens to utilize these new facilities for a smoother registration experience.

This will bring more corruption by the way.
They are charging 10k for vehicle inspection, 20k for file processing, 1000 counter fee. The only way to make it streamline is raid all the agents sitting outside every excise office. They all work on behalf of higher officers.
This will make services easier for thr citizens. Instead of blaming the agents sitting outside the excise office, we should follow proper procedures.
When i have lost my car without not having on my name. A person toke it from me cell it and illegaly done biometric. Its pakistan now i m not even able to f.i.r for my car that was stolen like. I have lost my 75 lkh car without giving any biometric to the person. What this law will help. Nothing. They make it more easy for agents to rename the stolen cars without having any fonger (biometric). This is just a non sense. They make it more easy for agent mafias. I havent recieve my car yet since from 2 years having old biometric and stamp between when i bought from the person. Keep it going these nonsense pakistan. I have lost my 75 lkh car. But i have no clue that how they get biometric just because of excise corruption.. these laws may provide more comfrtable way for agents to rename a car without oweners trnsfer or biometric

But due to having old bio metric and my stamp to the person i bought they said me that its not ur car becuse its some one esle name… Plz….
