Pacer Imran Muhammad, representing the IAS Invincibles against the Yallah Shabab Giants in the Oman D10 League has gone viral lately, mostly in part due to his bowling action closely resembling the one of the acclaimed Rawalpindi Express, Shoaib Akhtar.
The clip surfaced on social media site X last Friday, with it showing Muhammad Imran stepping up to bowl the second over of the second innings with the resemblance being all too uncanny. Prashanth S, the poster of the clip added the caption “He’s more like Shoaib Akhtar than Shoaib Akhtar himself”.

Imran hails from Pakistan and primarily works as a CCTV camera installer in Oman with cricket being a part-time pursuit. Across 14 matches In the Oman D10 league, he has taken 21 wickets at an average of 10.71 with an economy of 8.65. His team however is in the second-last spot on the points table with only five wins from fifteen matches having just 11 points to their name.
With Shoaib Akhtar being among some of the greatest to ever play the game, Imran Muhammad will hope to further emulate the cricketing legend he is currently being compared to to help his team succeed on the pitch.
