The ninth edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup is set to kick off next month in the United Arab Emirates. With just over a week left, the official song for the tournament, “Whatever it Takes” has been released.
The song is a collaboration between Indian all-girl pop group W.i.S.H, music director Mikey McCleary and composer Parth Parekh. Produced by Bay Music House, the 1-minute 40-second video of the song includes various memorable moments from previous ICC Women’s T20 World Cups.
Here is the official music video for the 2024 Women’s T20 World Cup anthem “Whatever it Takes.”
Ahead of the launch, members of the aforementioned band excitedly stated,
We are incredibly proud to share that as an all-girl group, we’ve created the official event song for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup! Cricket is a powerful force that unites people across our country and around the world, and it’s an honor to contribute to such a special occasion. As huge fans of Jemimah Rodrigues and Smriti Mandhana, we can’t wait for them to do the hook step from the music video and of course the other players from all the participating nations.
Beginning on October 3rd, the event will feature 10 teams who will play 23 matches in Dubai and Sharjah respectively.
The Pakistan Women’s Team is set to face Sri Lanka, Australia, and New Zealand as well as arch-rivals India in what is set to be the tougher of the two groups at the tournament.
