Vivo has expanded its V40 series with the simultaneous launch of two new models in Indonesia: the V40 Lite 4G and V40 Lite 5G. These devices join the recently unveiled V40e, rounding out the company’s latest mid-range offerings.
Despite their different network capabilities, the V40 Lite 4G and 5G variants share striking design and core specifications similarities. The primary distinction lies in their chipsets and memory configurations.
The 4G model is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 685 processor and 8 GB of RAM. In contrast, the 5G variant boasts the more advanced Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip and offers up to 12 GB of RAM. Both phones boot Android 14 which is covered by Vivo’s Funtouch OS 14 custom skin.
Both devices feature identical physical dimensions and display specifications. Each model has a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen, offering 1080p resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. The display has a punch-hole cutout housing a 32MP front-facing camera.
The camera setup is identical as well including the IMX882 50MP main cam accompanied by a 2MP depth sensor and Vivo’s traditional Aura Ligth portrait system. Of course, AI photo editing is on board as well as such as AI Erase, Photo Enhance, and Document scanning.
The battery size is 5,000 mAh with 80W wired charging, which is rare to find in budget phones these days.
The 4G variant is available in Titanium Silver, Pearl Violet, and Carbon Black colors for a starting price of $220, while the 5G version costs $285. It is available in Titanium Silver and Carbon Black colors.
