Kevin Pietersen Reveals Why Pakistan Cricket is in Bad Shape

Former England cricketer, Kevin Pietersen has cast a sharp light on the standards of Pakistani cricket, voicing agreement with former Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur, who recently highlighted the issues blighting the system itself.

The former head coach pointed out inconsistency around selection ,environment and administration on a social media post, where the former English cricketer chimed in with a reply citing his experiences in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Pietersen, who represented Quetta Gladiators in the PSL from 2016 to 2018, stated that the players he played with during the tournament did not focus on training properly. He also mentioned that the players involved put too much emphasis on wins and losses, leading to a lack of emotional control.

Kevin Pietersen also emphasised that while Pakistan is a country that has boundless talent with regards to the sport of cricket, if there was a lack of consistency off the field, no consistency was to be expected on the field either.

Pakistan cricket is in what seems to be a freefall at the moment, successive losses and failiure on all fronts have contributed to a particularly poor run of form. With this extended period of extraordinarily bad performances, Pakistan are languishing at the bottom of the World Test Championship Table.
