Oppo has made good on its promise, unveiling the K12 Plus in China. This is an upper mid-range device that brings almost high-end power in a budget package. That being said, it is only available in China for now.
Design and Display
The centerpiece of the K12 Plus is its 6.7-inch AMOLED display, boasting 1080p resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. This screen can reach a peak brightness of 1,100 nits and features wet touch control support, enhancing usability in various conditions.

Oppo has placed a strong emphasis on durability with this model. The company highlights its proprietary shock-absorbing diamond structure and a safety airbag design, both intended to provide comprehensive drop protection for the K12 Plus.
It can also support long gaming sessions with its 4,129mm2 liquid-cooled VC heat sink.
Internals and Software
This new smartphone comes equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor, offering users a choice of up to 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 512 GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. For those needing extra space, the device supports storage expansion of up to 1 TB via a microSD card.

The K12 Plus runs on Android 14, customized with Oppo’s ColorOS 14 interface. However, the company has not yet disclosed any information regarding future software update plans for the device.
Cameras
The main camera boasts a 50MP sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), ensuring sharp and steady shots. Complementing this is an 8MP ultrawide lens for capturing broader scenes. For selfie enthusiasts, the device features a 16MP front-facing camera.
Oppo has incorporated AI editing features into the K12 Plus, including an AI eraser function. This tool allows users to remove unwanted elements from their photos. Additionally, the smartphone offers an emoji generation feature, enabling users to transform cutouts of people, pets, or objects from photos into personalized emojis.
Battery and Pricing
Powering the K12 Plus is a gigantic 6,400 mAh battery, designed to keep the device running for more than 2 days. The smartphone supports 80W wired fast charging, with Oppo claiming that users can achieve a 50% charge in just 20 minutes when using the compatible 80W power adapter. For added versatility, the device also supports 10W reverse wired charging, allowing it to function as a power bank for other devices.
Oppo K12 Plus has a starting price of only $270 in China. It is available in white and black colors. It is currently unclear when this phone will reach the global market or if it will come with a different name.
