Pakistan Baseball team will get to showcase its skills in the upcoming Arab Classic tournament being organized by Baseball United at The Sevens sports and entertainment complex in Dubai.
Eight other teams namely India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Palestine, Afghanistan, Nepal, Saudi Arabia, and the newly formed UAE team will join Pakistan in the four-day tournament which begins on November 7th and is being hailed as the biggest baseball tournament in the Middle East.
The teams have been split into two groups.
Group A will include India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and the UAE. Group B will feature Saudi Arabia, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Palestine. After a round-robin first phase, the group winners will automatically advance to the semifinals, with teams second and third in each group competing in an opening quarterfinal round.
All the matches will be congested into four days with the games running from early morning to late evening on each day of the tournament, with start times ranging from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Gulf Standard Time.
Pakistan will face Bangladesh in the first game on November 7th at 10:30 AM (GST) before taking on UAE on the same day at 8:30 PM (GST) before squaring off against India the following day at 8:00 PM (GST). Their final game will be against Afghanistan on November 9th at 2:00 PM (GST).
Playoff teams and match-ups will be announced after play on Saturday, Nov. 9. Pakistan will take the field in the Arab Classic as the highest-rated South Asian team and the favorites to make the trophy their own.
