We’ve all had trouble recalling a funny Reel or meme we’ve sent someone in the past, but this should no longer be a problem on Instagram soon.
The social media platform is allegedly working on a “Social Library” section, designed to help you keep track of the Reels and posts you share or receive, as reported by renowned developer and leaker Alessandro Paluzzi.
Paluzzi’s leaked screenshot offers a glimpse into this potential new feature. The “Social Library” appears to serve as a centralized hub for users to easily retrieve a wide range of content. This includes media shared in chat threads, personal collections, and posts that users have previously liked.
Here is what it will look like.
Notably, the screenshot reveals a magnifying glass icon in the corner, suggesting that users will be able to search through this consolidated content library. This should make it a lot easier to go back to Reels or other content you’ve shared.
The timeline for the public release of Instagram’s rumored “Social Library” feature remains unclear. Meta or Instagram have yet to share any official comments regarding this potential feature.
That being said, it is worth mentioning that not all features spotted early make it to the public version of these apps, so take this information with a grain of salt.
This development comes alongside another recent discovery by Alessandro Paluzzi, who also uncovered evidence suggesting that Instagram may be exploring a feature that would allow users to share their Instagram comments as standalone posts on Threads, Meta’s text-based social platform.
