Changan, a renowned Chinese automaker, has shown off its much-anticipated electric vehicle, Lumin, at the Pakistan Auto Show 2024 (PAPS). This new EV was only a showpiece and will not be launching anytime soon. Master Changan hasn’t decided on a launch price or date for this car.
The Lumin was shown in two variants: Lumin L and Lumin L DC.
The Changan Lumin is a compact, four-seater electric vehicle with advanced features for efficiency and comfort. Here’s what it offers:
It seats up to four passengers with fabric seats. The front passenger seat can be folded and slid forward using a lever, making rear access more convenient. Enhancing convenience, the cabin includes a rearview mirror with integrated lighting, a multifunctional electronic power steering wheel, a 12-volt power outlet, and USB ports at the front and rear, enabling passengers to charge their devices easily.
On the technology front, the Lumin features a 7-inch LCD driving information display, along with a 10.25-inch infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay for seamless connectivity. Keyless entry, push start, and a smart key provide added convenience.
Currently, Changan Lumin displayed at PAPS is a Completely Built Unit (CBU), imported specifically for the event to gauge consumer interest. Changan officials have indicated that, while there are no immediate plans for a full market launch, the Lumin could become available as a locally assembled unit, depending on market demand and infrastructure developments. However, the officials have not confirmed any specific launch date or pricing details for the vehicle.
