Federal Employees Could See House Rent Ceiling Increasing Up to 100%

The Ministry of Housing and Construction has developed a plan to increase the monthly rent ceilings for federal government employees to address rising living costs. The proposal has been submitted to the Finance Division for approval and will be sent to the Prime Minister for final consent after receiving feedback.

For Grade 1 and 2 employees, the proposed rent ceiling is Rs. 14,058 in Islamabad and Rs. 13,182 in other cities. For Grades 3 to 6, the suggested ceilings are Rs. 21,960 in Islamabad and Rs. 19,308 in other cities. For those in Grades 7 to 10, the proposed ceilings are Rs. 28,705 in Islamabad and Rs. 25,693 in other cities.

For Grades 11 to 13, the ceiling is set at Rs. 43,302 in Islamabad and Rs. 37,558 in other cities. Employees in Grades 14 to 16 would see ceilings of Rs. 54,399 in Islamabad and Rs. 47,884 in other cities. For Grades 17 and 18, the proposed ceiling is Rs. 61,720 in Islamabad and Rs. 53,847 in other cities.

For Grade 19 employees, the proposed ceiling is Rs. 82,056 in Islamabad and Rs. 70,224 in other cities. Those in Grade 20 would have ceilings of Rs. 103,050 in Islamabad and Rs. 88,618 in other cities. For Grade 21, the ceiling is proposed at Rs. 123,391 in Islamabad and Rs. 106,660 in other cities.

Finally, for Grade 22 employees, the proposed ceiling is Rs. 147,666 in Islamabad and Rs. 133,845 in other cities.
