Ben Stokes Appeals for Public Help After Home Burglary During Pakistan Tour

In a distressing revelation, England’s cricket captain Ben Stokes has appealed for information after his home in Castle Eden, Durham, was burgled during England’s Test series against Pakistan.

The burglary occurred on October 17, while Stokes’ wife and two young children were inside the property with the thief’s taking off with several “irreplaceable” personal items with Stokes urging anyone with information to come forward and contact local authorities.

Stokes shared details of the incident on social media, stating,

On the evening of Thursday, October 17, several masked individuals broke into my home in the Castle Eden area of the North East. They escaped with jewelry, valuables, and personal items that are sentimental for me and my family—things that simply cannot be replaced.

The all-rounder emphasized the emotional toll the incident has had on his family, saying, “The worst part is that it happened while my wife and two young children were in the house. Fortunately, no one was physically harmed, but the impact on their emotional and mental well-being is considerable. We can’t help but think about how much worse it could have been.”

Stokes has shared photos of some of the stolen items and sought public assistance in hopes of catching those responsible.

The timing of the burglary coincided with England’s three-Test series against Pakistan, which concluded with a 2-1 defeat for Stokes’ side.

Ben Stokes, who had returned to the team in the second Test after recovering from a hamstring issue, struggled to regain his full form and looked uncharacteristically agitated during the games against Pakistan which now makes sense.

England has been dealing with the recent trend of robbers targeting sportspersons while they are away from home. Plethora of Premier League stars have faced similar issues in the past with many taking drastic measures, including hiring private security firms, to keep their families safe.
