Australia set the tone early against Pakistan after being asked to bat in the rain-curtailed T20I. Glenn Maxwell put his awful one-day form behind him to lead the charge for his side with 43 off just 19 balls as the hosts put 93 runs on the board.Â
While Shaheen and Haris Rauf managed to keep the Aussies quiet, Naseem leaked 37 runs from his two overs to put Pakistan in a bind.
There was little resistance from Pakistani batters in reply. Haseebullah and Abbas Afridi were the only batters to reach the double figures as their team managed to score just 64/9 from their 7 overs.
Mohammad Rizwan and Pakistan have a lot of work to do if they want to avoid the embarrassment they faced at the Gabba by Australia in the first T20.
The second match will be played at the SCG on November 16th with the visitors hoping to turn their fortunes around.Â
