The National Highway Authority (NHA) is set to upgrade key motorways to accommodate growing traffic demands.
Federal Minister for Communications, Abdul Aleem Khan, emphasized the need for expanded capacity on the Lahore, Sialkot, and Kharian to Islamabad Motorway by increasing the lanes from four to six.
Khan explained that the decision is crucial in addressing future traffic pressure and ensuring smoother travel for commuters.
During a high-level meeting, the Minister directed the NHA to plan infrastructure projects with foresight, especially to keep pace with the rapidly increasing number of vehicles on the roads.
The expansion of these motorways is expected to enhance travel efficiency, reduce congestion, and improve road safety.
