Pakistan’s blind cricket team showcased their dominance with a commanding 8-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the Blind Cricket T20 World Cup at Bagh-e-Jinnah Ground, Lahore. This win marks Pakistan’s second consecutive triumph in the tournament, reinforcing their strong start.
After opting to bat first, Bangladesh managed to post 145/6 in their allotted 20 overs. Muhammad Salman was the standout batter, scoring a quick 43 off 31 balls, while Tarif Rehan contributed a steady 30 off 32 deliveries. Despite their efforts, Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack ensured the Bangladeshi batters could not post a bigger total.
Pakistan’s response with the bat was clinical. The team chased down the target in just 12.4 overs, thanks to impressive contributions from the top order. Muhammad Safdar anchored the innings with a solid 41 off 29 balls, while Niamatullah chipped in with 34 off 34 deliveries.
However, the finishing touches came from Badar Munir, whose explosive unbeaten knock of 28 off just 9 balls emphatically sealed the game, showcasing Pakistan’s batting depth and flair against Bangladesh in the Blind T20 World Cup.
The Pakistan vs Bangladesh Blind T20 World Cup match was attended by Provincial Secretary Sports Punjab Muzaffar Khan Sial and Chairman Pakistan Blind Cricket Council (PBCC) Syed Sultan Shah.
Speaking to the media, Muzaffar Khan Sial expressed pride in hosting the Blind T20 Cricket World Cup, noting that the tournament has significantly elevated Pakistan’s stature on the global stage.
Syed Sultan Shah thanked the Punjab Sports Department for their unwavering support in ensuring the smooth organization of the event.
Elsewhere, Afghanistan received a walkover against India, as the latter failed to appear for their scheduled match on November 26. At the Ghani Institute Cricket Ground, Nepal edged past South Africa in a thrilling contest, securing an 11-run victory.
With two consecutive wins including challengers Bangladesh, Pakistan is firmly on track for the next stages of the Blind T20 World Cup, and their form so far signals they are strong contenders for the title.
