Pakistan Ranks Poorly in Global Mobile And Broadband Internet Speed Ratings

Pakistan ranks 198th out of 224 countries in mobile and broadband internet speed, according to a report by World Population Review.

The report reveals that the average mobile internet download speed in Pakistan is 19.59 Mbps, while the average broadband download speed is 15.52 Mbps.

These figures place Pakistan near the bottom globally in terms of internet connectivity performance.

The United Arab Emirates leads the global ranking for the fastest mobile internet speed, boasting an average download speed of 297.62 Mbps. Singapore follows closely with an average speed of 297.57 Mbps, while Hong Kong secures third place. These countries have invested heavily in digital infrastructure to achieve such high rankings.

The report further notes that the United States ranks fifth globally with an average download speed of 242.27 Mbps. Chile has claimed the fourth position, showcasing significant advancements in internet infrastructure within South America.

India, Pakistan’s regional neighbor, ranks 72nd in the global internet speed index, a substantial improvement compared to Pakistan’s standing.


  • Seems like the countries which have launched 5g have improved their ranking. I remember Pakistan was above India before they had launched 5g. In terms of average wireless broadband speeds. Well, I think by the end of 2025 we’ll improve significantly in terms of wireless average speed rankings. If 5g Auction is actually held in April 2025

  • Average mobile internet speed in villages from 6 to 8 pm is around 4 mb with upload 500 kb. During this time even video call doesn’t work.
