Pakistan’s rising tennis sensation, Muhammad Hassan Usmani, continued his stellar run in the ATP Asian Under-14 tournament, storming into the singles final on Thursday after a dominant performance against the Philippines’ Marcus Lorenzo Go. Usmani cruised to a one-sided victory, dismantling Lorenzo Go 6-0, 6-1 in the semi-final.
Usmani is now set to face the tournament’s top seed, Suleyman Hudayberdiyev from Turkmenistan, in what promises to be an exciting singles final.
Muhammad Hassan Usmani also ruled the doubles category, teaming up with his singles finals opponent Hudayberdiyev to deliver an equally commanding performance. The duo triumphed 7-5, 6-2 in their semi-final against Lorenzo Go and Iraq’s Fahad Saif. Their victory sets up a high-stakes clash in the final against Saudi Arabia’s Anas Alzahrany and Souhail El-Taji El-Farouki.
This isn’t the first time Muhammad Hassan Usmani and Hudayberdiyev have crossed paths. Last month, the two faced each other in the final of the Ashgabat Open Tennis Tournament, where Usmani delivered a masterclass. The Pakistani prodigy overwhelmed Hudayberdiyev with a commanding 6-1, 6-0 victory, dropping just one game to clinch the title.
Usmani’s journey to the Ashgabat Open title was nothing short of remarkable. Entering the tournament as a wildcard, he defied the odds and delivered one stunning performance after another. In the Pre-Quarterfinal he upset eighth seed Kerimgeldi Velibegov before overpowering fourth seed Aly Geldyev the next round.
With his consistent brilliance, Muhammad Hassan Usmani continues to solidify his reputation as one of Pakistan’s most promising young tennis talents. All eyes are now on his upcoming finals in both singles and doubles as he aims to further enhance his burgeoning career.
