Shoaib Malik is one of the most experienced players in the PSL and has been a regular feature in the league since its inception in 2016. Over the course of nine editions, Malik has represented three franchises: Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans, and Peshawar Zalmi.
Despite his consistent performances and leadership roles, the all-rounder has yet to win a PSL title, a rare gap in his otherwise illustrious career.
For the first time in his PSL career, Shoaib Malik will enter the player draft. Since the PSL’s inception, Malik has always been directly signed by franchises.
Malik’s departure signals a period of transition for Karachi Kings, who have struggled to replicate their title-winning success from the 2020 season. The franchise has been making changes to its squad and management, relegating three other players, including captain Shan Masood.
