A remarkable achievement unfolded at the Karachi Marathon, where 7-year-old Mohammad Haris Jamal from Swabi broke his own record in the Asian Championship half marathon.
Haris covered an impressive 21 kilometers in just 2 hours and 13 minutes, setting a new Asian Championship record and cementing his status as one of the youngest and most promising marathon runners in the region.
Mohammad Haris Jamal, who set a world record at the age of six, continues to push boundaries in the world of marathon running. His exceptional performance at the Karachi Marathon has not only brought pride to Pakistan but also highlighted the abundance of talent in the country.
Speaking about his inspiration, Haris shared,
My father, Jamal Said, is also the current Asian Champion of the ultra-marathon. I always practice with him. My mother and younger sister are marathon runners as well. I wish to follow in my father’s footsteps and set even more records in the marathon.
Rais Khan, CEO of RK Sports Management, personally congratulated Mohammad Haris Jamal for his record-breaking feat and emphasized the importance of nurturing such young talent.
Khan further urged the government to provide the necessary support to Haris so that he can continue to excel in international competitions. He also assured that RK Sports Management would extend all possible help to Haris, including finding sponsorship opportunities to support his journey.
