Motorway Police Announces Strict Penalties for Rule Breakers

The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) has decided to implement strict measures to address violations related to the fast lane on motorways and highways. This decision, along with other initiatives, was made during a meeting chaired by Inspector General (IG) Riffat Mukhtar Raja during his visit to the South Zone in Karachi.

The meeting reviewed ongoing operations and resolved to adopt a zero-tolerance policy toward overloaded vehicles. Participants emphasized the importance of strict enforcement of traffic laws and operational efficiency. It was decided that overloaded vehicles would be denied entry to motorways, and violators would face legal action to ensure compliance with regulations.

IG Riffat Mukhtar Raja directed officers to intensify efforts to enhance road safety and security across national highways while ensuring the convenience of road users. He stressed the importance of delivering professional service and maintaining the NHMP’s high standards of conduct. The IG also encouraged field officers to uphold and reflect the positive impact of NHMP’s professionalism in their daily operations.

During the meeting, DIG Asghar Ali Yousafzai provided a detailed briefing on the operational status and accomplishments of the South Zone, highlighting the progress made in ensuring safer and more efficient travel on highways and motorways.
