Central Asian Country Launches Visa Services in Karachi

Tajikistan has inaugurated a visa section at its Consulate General in Karachi, marking a significant milestone in strengthening ties between the two nations, as reported by ARY News on Saturday.

The Consulate General of Tajikistan in Karachi has been upgraded to a full-fledged facility, now authorized to issue visas to Pakistani citizens intending to visit Tajikistan.

The visa service was officially launched by Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori during an inauguration ceremony, which was attended by Tajikistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir, and other diplomatic officials.

Initially, a visa consular has been stationed in Karachi, with plans to expand the team based on the volume of visa applications.

Speaking at the event, Governor Tessori emphasized that the new visa section would simplify the process for Pakistani citizens to obtain Tajik visas, fostering tourism and the exchange of delegations. He congratulated Ambassador Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir on this achievement and described it as a significant development in the relationship between Pakistan and Tajikistan.

Ambassador Sharifzoda Yusuf Toir expressed his eagerness to see Pakistan prosper and highlighted the mutual commitment of both countries to the region’s development and progress.

Malik Khuda Bakhsh, Convener of the Energy Standing Committee at the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), also extended his congratulations to the ambassador and the consulate staff.

He noted that the new visa section would greatly benefit the public, especially the business community, by facilitating travel for trade and investment purposes. He stressed that the improved access between the two nations would enhance trade, tourism, and the exchange of technology and resources, further solidifying economic cooperation.

Both Pakistan and Tajikistan, he added, have the potential to play a key role in advancing the region’s prosperity, and this initiative is a pivotal step toward strengthening their bilateral relationship.
