New Speed Limits Announced for Islamabad

The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has announced revised speed limits for various roads in the capital to enhance road safety and ensure smooth traffic flow.

The updated limits apply to both Light Transport Vehicles (LTV) and Heavy Transport Vehicles (HTV) and differ depending on the road type.

Kashmir Highway, Islamabad Highway, and Murree Road now have an LTV limit of 80 km/h and an HTV limit of 65 km/h. For Constitution Avenue, Jinnah Avenue, Faisal Avenue, Khyaban-e-Iqbal, Park Road, and New 7th and 9th Avenues, the limits are set at 70 km/h for LTVs and 65 km/h for HTVs.

Lehtrar Road has a speed limit of 40 km/h for all vehicles, while both LTVs and HTVs are allowed a maximum of 60 km/h on Kahuta Road and I.J.P. Road. Additional limits include 50 km/h on major roads, 60 km/h on service roads (single 40 km/h), and 30 km/h near schools and hospitals.

The public is urged to follow these new speed regulations to avoid fines and ensure safety for all commuters.
