In a lopsided encounter of the ILT20, Fakhar Zaman delivered a scintillating performance, smashing an unbeaten 71 off just 39 balls to lead the Desert Vipers to a commanding 10-wicket victory over the Sharjah Warriorz. Chasing a modest target of 92, the Vipers wrapped up the match with 10 overs to spare, leaving the Warriorz reeling from a dismal batting collapse earlier in the game.

Batting first, the Sharjah Warriorz endured a nightmare start, with Mohammad Amir striking twice in the very first over. Johnson Charles (4) and Avishka Fernando (0) fell in quick succession, leaving the Warriorz at a precarious 5/2. Amir wasn’t done yet, adding the wickets of Rohan Mustafa (2) and Adam Milne (4) to complete a sensational four-wicket haul, finishing with figures of 3.1-0-24-4.

This was the first instance in the ILT20 that a team has chased down the target inside 10 overs. Fakhar Zaman’s 71* is now also the highest score by a Desert Vipers batter.
