Xiaomi Plans to Deliver Over 300,000 SU7 Electric Cars This Year

Xiaomi, the Chinese tech giant, is quickly establishing itself in the electric vehicle (EV) market. In 2024, the company delivered over 150,000 units of its first EV, the SU7 sedan, marking a major milestone for the brand.

The SU7, launched in March 2024, gained traction rapidly, especially in December when more than 25,000 units were delivered within a month. This strong performance has set the stage for Xiaomi’s ambitious 2025 goal of delivering 300,000 vehicles.

The sedan’s popularity has been fueled by its affordability and versatility, with three versions available: Standard (RMB 215,900/$29,775), Pro (RMB 245,900/$33,912), and Max (RMB 299,900/$41,360). The demand is so high that customers face a waiting period of up to 20 weeks.

Xiaomi founder Lei Jun recently demonstrated the SU7’s autonomous parking feature during a live presentation, where he also revealed a striking red 15th-anniversary edition of the sedan, slated for delivery in March 2025.

Looking ahead, Xiaomi plans to expand its EV lineup. The high-performance SU7 Ultra, priced at RMB 814,900 ($112,385), will debut in March 2025, while an SUV, the YU7, is expected to launch by mid-2025.
