Govt Announces Day of Mourning on Passing of Prince Agha Khan

The Government of Pakistan has officially declared Saturday, February 8, 2025, as a Day of National Mourning to honor the passing of His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan.

According to an official notification issued by the Cabinet Division, the Prime Minister of Pakistan has expressed profound grief on behalf of the government and people of Pakistan over the demise of Prince Karim Aga Khan.

As a mark of respect, the national flag will fly at half-mast throughout the country on February 8, 2025, coinciding with the funeral of His Highness.

The notification has been forwarded to key government officials, including federal ministers, advisors, the Auditor General, the Chief Election Commissioner, and other relevant authorities.

This declaration highlights the strong historical and diplomatic ties between Pakistan and the Aga Khan community, recognizing the late leader’s contributions to education, healthcare, and social development in the country and beyond.
