The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has proposed a new highway to improve access between the Prime Minister House and the Margalla Enclave.
The plan includes utilizing the existing six-kilometer highway up to the Barakahu Bypass and constructing an additional four-kilometer extension to complete the connection.
Following Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s directive for a five-minute route to Margalla Enclave, the CDA’s Planning Wing identified the site and submitted the proposal to CDA Chairman and Islamabad Chief Commissioner Mohammad Ali Randhawa.
According to sources, senior officials have reviewed the feasibility of the 10-kilometer highway, which is expected to take at least a year to build and will require a substantial investment.
To reduce costs, the proposal suggests constructing a parallel highway alongside the current route, potentially saving the government between Rs. 6 billion and Rs. 8 billion.
Once finished, the highway will offer a direct and efficient link between the Prime Minister’s House and Margalla Enclave, significantly improving connectivity and reducing travel time.
Because Margalla Enclave is being developed jointly by DHA and CDA and you know very well who the residents of that housing scheme will be. Anything that is even remotely associated with the establishment is quickly developed – be it Margalla Enclave or NUST or any other similar scheme/facility. The rest of the 250 million population of this country is happily leading a life of second-rate citizens.
