Supreme Court Introduces New Policy for Early Hearings

The Supreme Court of Pakistan has introduced a new policy regarding the early hearing and scheduling of urgent cases, according to a circular issued on Wednesday.

Under the new guidelines, bail cases, compromise cases, and family dispute transfers will be given priority without requiring separate requests for early hearings.

Additionally, election-related cases will be scheduled on an urgent basis based on the availability of the relevant bench.

For out-of-turn hearings, applications must be submitted by the Advocate-on-Record (AOR) along with valid proof of urgency, such as court orders related to eviction, arrest warrants, or property possession.

The circular also clarified that if an early hearing request is denied by the Supreme Court, a new application can only be filed with fresh grounds and supporting evidence. The policy aims to streamline case scheduling and ensure prompt hearings for urgent legal matters.
