The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has suffered a massive shortfall of over Rs. 600 billion during the first eight months (July-February) of current fiscal year (FY25).
According to provisional figures till now, FBR has collected Rs. 7,346 billion during July-February of FY25 against the assigned target of Rs. 7,947 billion, reflecting a shortfall of Rs. 601 billion.
The tax collection during the month of February 2025 stood at Rs. 850 billion against the monthly target of Rs. 983 billion, reflecting a shortfall of Rs. 133 billion.
The federal government has set an ambitious revenue collection target of Rs. 12.913 trillion for FY25, a massive 40 percent increase from FY24.
