Lahore Qalandars’ head coach, Darren Gough, has announced that he will not be available for the upcoming 10th edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL X) due to personal commitments.
In a video shared by Lahore Qalandars, the England cricket legend expressed his regret at missing the season, thanking the team’s owner, Sameen Rana, whom he described as a “wonderful person to work with.” Gough said, “I’m really sad to inform the Qalandars family that I won’t be able to make it to PSL this season due to personal commitments that are unavoidable.”
He reassured fans that he hopes to return next season, adding, “Once you’re a Qalandar, you’re always a Qalandar.”
Gough also expressed confidence in the team’s preparations for PSL X, praising the players selected in the draft. He stated that the squad is exactly what the Qalandars needed and wished them the best of luck in their quest to win the 10th edition of the tournament.
Darren Gough was appointed as Lahore Qalandars’ head coach in 2024, ahead of the Global Super League (GSL). His absence will undoubtedly be felt, but the Qalandars will look to build on their strong foundation and continue their journey in PSL X.
The 10th edition of Pakistan’s premier T20 tournament is set to start on 11 April to May 18, 2025. The 10th edition of the PSL will feature matches across four venues: Rawalpindi, Karachi, Multan, and Lahore. The tournament will culminate with the final in Lahore on May 18.
