The Punjab government has introduced a free travel facility for students, senior citizens, and differently-abled individuals across the province. The decision was approved during a Provincial Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
In addition to the free transport initiative, the Chief Minister also directed measures to reduce the price of chicken to provide relief to the public.
The Cabinet approved the formation of special investigation units to handle sexual crimes, with a focus on preventing such incidents. Another significant decision included the approval of new airports in Bhakkar and Bahawalnagar, along with funding for an airstrip in Bhakkar to support air ambulance services. The proposal for launching Punjab’s own airline service was also reviewed.

Additionally, 3,904 new posts were approved for the Punjab Crime Control Department, and 664 visually impaired persons were adjusted on daily wages for better social inclusion. The government also approved the Green Pakistan Initiative’s Cholistan watercourse lining project.
