Sindh Announces Eligibility Criteria for Free Electric Scooty Scheme for Women

The Government of Sindh has introduced a new initiative under its Transport and Mass Transit Department aimed at empowering women by enhancing their mobility.

Through this scheme, eligible women in Sindh will receive free electric pink scooties.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the scheme, applicants must:

• Be a permanent resident of Sindh.
• Be either a student or a working woman.
• Possess a valid driving license (motorbike or car).
• Commit not to sell or sublet the scooty for at least 7 years.
• Pass a road safety skill test if selected through the draw.

Training & Support

• The Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) will offer free training programs across Sindh.
• The training will cover all aspects of riding and road safety.

Distribution Process

• Scooties will be distributed through a transparent balloting process, monitored by the print and electronic media.
• A special committee with members from Excise, Transport, Finance, and Media departments will oversee the process to ensure fairness.
