The road to Naran has finally reopened after being closed for five months due to heavy snowfall, officials from the National Highway Authority (NHA) and Balakot tehsil administration confirmed on Sunday.
The route, blocked since November, was cleared after glaciers were cut along the Kaghan Highway, restoring access to one of Pakistan’s most popular tourist destinations. Naran, located at an altitude of 2,409 metres in the Kaghan Valley, attracts around 1.5 million tourists annually.
According to the Mansehra District Police Officer, traffic has now resumed up to Naran, while the NHA is continuing work to open the road further towards Babusar Top, the summer gateway to Gilgit-Baltistan.
Tourism arrangements are expected to be completed in the next three days, and visitors have been advised to travel only once the weather clears and facilities are in place.
In winter, snowfall cuts off access to the valley, but in summer, it becomes a major hub for tourists due to its cool temperatures and scenic views. Public movement typically continues until autumn before the roads are closed again.

If a foreign tourist looks at the haphazard parking of vehicles in this picture, he/she would think a hundred times before planning to visit Pakistan.
Please note, even otherwise forget that any foreign tourist will visit Pakistan. Not at all.
Forget about what they think.
