Lahore is Getting 3 New Metro Lines

The Punjab government has taken a major step toward expanding Lahore’s public transport network with the approval of feasibility studies for three new metro lines in the city — the Yellow Line, Blue Line, and Purple Line.

The announcement came during the 25th meeting of the Punjab cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif. The new lines are part of her Vision T-30, a province-wide transport strategy aimed at improving urban mobility, cutting down travel time, and promoting cleaner, more sustainable modes of transport.

Vision T-30, short for Transport Vision 2030, lays out the government’s plan to modernise public transit systems across Punjab. It focuses on increasing access, reducing road accidents, and shifting toward eco-friendly solutions to accommodate growing urban populations.

According to government officials, the new lines will complement the existing Orange Line and provide wider coverage across Lahore’s busiest routes. Once completed, they are expected to ease traffic congestion and improve daily commute options for residents.
