PSL Indian Broadcast Team Has Left Pakistan Already

The escalating tensions between India and Pakistan continue to mar the sporting world as well, with the PCB sending back the workers from India involved in the broadcast of PSL 2025.

According to reports, the Pakistan government ordered the immediate removal of 23 Indian nationals who were part of the tournament’s broadcast team. The decision comes in the wake of escalating diplomatic tensions between India and Pakistan following the tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam. In response, Pakistan’s National Security Council convened and decided that Indian citizens involved in PSL 2025’s broadcasting operations must leave the country, citing security and diplomatic concerns.

Those affected include engineers, camera operators, production leads, and player-tracking specialists, all of whom played crucial roles in delivering high-quality coverage of the league. Despite the Pakistan Cricket Board’s (PCB) efforts to seek exemptions for the crew based on their sports-related visas, the government’s order remained firm.

Compounding the situation, India has already banned the live streaming and broadcast of PSL 2025 within its borders. There have also been calls from former cricketers to outright sever sporting ties between the two nations.

While cricket has often acted as a bridge between the two nations, the latest developments serve as a stark reminder of how quickly political tensions can spill over into the sporting world. For the PCB and PSL stakeholders, the immediate focus will now be on stabilizing operations and ensuring that the show, at least on the field, goes on without further disruption.
