PSL 2025 Standings as Qalandars Extend Sultans’ Winless Streak

Lahore Qalandars turned in a clinical five-wicket victory over Multan Sultans at home to keep pace with others in the latest PSL 2025 standings. Chasing 186 for victory, Shaheen Afridi’s men crossed the finish line with an over to spare, thanks to a blistering innings from Daryl Mitchell and a composed finishing effort from Sikandar Raza.

Earlier, Multan Sultans, led by a fluent 76* from captain Mohammad Rizwan, posted 185/3 after being put into bat. Kamran Ghulam also starred with a quickfire 52* off 31 deliveries, but Multan’s total proved insufficient against a determined Lahore side desperate to showcase some consistency.

Fakhar Zaman gave Lahore a brisk start before falling for 28, and although wickets continued to fall at intervals, Mitchell anchored the chase superbly. His 64 off just 38 balls, featuring four fours and four sixes, tilted the momentum decisively in Lahore’s favor. Sikandar Raza (40* off 21 balls) played his part, sealing the win with ease and ensuring no late drama.

For Multan, Ubaid Shah impressed with figures of 2 for 34, but an overall lack of control with the ball came to the fore once more.

Updated PSL 2025 Standings:

Position Team Matches (M) Wins (W) Losses (L) No Result (N/R) Points (PT) Net Run Rate (NRR)
1 Islamabad United 5 5 0 0 10 2.342
2 Lahore Qalandars 6 3 3 0 6 0.543
3 Karachi Kings 6 3 3 0 6 -0.217
4 Peshawar Zalmi 5 2 3 0 4 -0.362
5 Quetta Gladiators 4 2 2 0 4 -0.625
6 Multan Sultans 6 1 5 0 2 -1.562

While Islamabad United continue to be the yardstick this season, Lahore looks like the best-suited team to give them a run for their money later in the tournament. The Qalandars have that second spot on the table firmly in their sights and will be hoping to play a qualifier rather than going through an eliminator.

Multan Sultans, with just one win in six matches, still have a shot at making the next phase, but their dreams this season are as good as done. The most consistent winners in the PSL have looked like a shell of their former selves and need a miraculous comeback to make the playoffs. Perhaps a return home would work out well for them.

With the tournament now entering its decisive stages, every match carries added weight, and Lahore’s resurgence adds even more intrigue to an already unpredictable season.

PSL 2025 continues tonight with Peshawar Zalmi taking on Quetta Gladiators.
