Approval has been granted in Punjab for the purchase of five high-value jammer-equipped vehicles to support VIP movement and security.
Following the provincial cabinet’s approval, a tender has also been issued for the procurement of these vehicles.
According to the official communication, funds amounting to Rs467.2 million have been allocated for the purchase of five imported Land Cruisers and Prados. Out of this, Rs240 million is earmarked for two imported Land Cruisers, while Rs 227 million is allocated for three imported Land Cruiser Prados.
Companies have been invited to submit their bids today under the prescribed rules and regulations.
As per standard operating procedures (SOPs), the bids will be opened the same day after submission of the bid security. The entire process will be carried out under the supervision of the AIG Procurement.
The vehicles are expected to be procured within the current financial year, after which jammer systems will be installed, and the vehicles will be handed over to the Special Branch.
