With Multan Sultans already out of the PSL 2025 playoff race, the spotlight is now on Peshawar Zalmi. Currently sitting in 5th place with just 2 wins and 4 losses from 6 games, Babar Azam’s side faces an uphill battle to qualify for the playoffs.
With four group stage matches left, here’s what Zalmi needs to do:
Zalmi must win three of their remaining games and hope Karachi Kings defeat Lahore Qalandars on May 4 at Gaddafi Stadium. After that, Zalmi themselves must beat Lahore Qalandars on May 9, also in Lahore—a tough task given Qalandars’ strong home record.
In this case, Zalmi must beat Karachi Kings on May 8 and hope Islamabad United defeat Karachi Kings on May 10. Again, Zalmi need to win at least three of their last four matches to stay in contention.
If Zalmi can pull off victories against Islamabad United (May 2), Multan Sultans (May 5), Karachi Kings (May 8), and Lahore Qalandars (May 9), they will almost certainly secure a Top 2 finish and a playoff spot.
With Babar Azam leading the charge, Zalmi’s playoff hopes are alive—but only just. Every match from here on is a must-win, and fans will be watching closely to see if the team can rise to the challenge.
