Quetta Gladiators sent a reminder to the rest of the league that their position at the top of the PSL 10 standings is not a fluke with another dismantling of Islamabad United at Rawalpindi in record fashion.
Their comprehensive 109-run triumph over Islamabad United secures their qualification as one of the top two sides in the playoffs.
The Gladiators’ innings was a masterclass in aggressive batting. After being sent into bat by Islamabad, Rilee Rossouw blazed his way to 104 runs off just 46 deliveries, while Hasan Nawaz matched the feat with an unbeaten 100 from 45 balls. Their partnership propelled Quetta to a staggering total of 263/3, setting a new benchmark for the highest team score in PSL history.
In response, Islamabad United faltered under pressure, managing only 154 runs in 19.3 overs. Mohammad Amir spearheaded the bowling attack with a remarkable 3-wicket haul, ensuring an unlikely comeback never materialized.

With this victory, Quetta Gladiators guarantee themselves two bites at qualification for the PSL 10 final. They still have a game in hand against the down-on-their-luck Multan Sultans, meaning they could very well qualify as the top team. Islamabad United, on the other hand, are in deep trouble. They have not only lost four matches in a row but also conceded second place to Karachi Kings. Their saving grace is that with five wins already, their playoff qualification isn’t in jeopardy, but if these performances are any indication, their stay in the playoffs will be brief.
Islamabad will get no respite in their last group encounter, where they face Karachi Kings on May 10.
PSL 10, meanwhile, will continue tomorrow night with Peshawar Zalmi taking on the Kings in a bid to launch their campaign for that fourth playoff spot.
