PSL Teams to Leave for Dubai Tonight

Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 is not expected to face a significant delay, with reports confirming that all six franchises are to leave Pakistan tonight.

The decision comes amid rising political tensions between India and Pakistan, which have forced both cricket boards into emergency planning mode. According to sources, a special chartered flight is scheduled to carry foreign players and officials from Islamabad to Dubai later this evening, before local players follow in a second phase. All logistics are being handled under tight security and confidentiality to avoid any unfavorable scenarios.

Order is expected to be restored once players are safely in Dubai. Although the PCB is yet to issue a schedule, conventional wisdom suggests it will be finalized when all teams are safely at their destination.

The PSL was forced into planning mode as the 27th match of the tournament, to be played between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, was called off just hours before the toss. It was a sign of how quickly the situation had escalated, forcing the PCB’s hand. The board finalized new arrangements in the UAE overnight on May 8, securing Dubai as the host for the remaining matches—including the final stages of the competition over the BCCI and the IPL.

There are only four league matches left in PSL 10, followed by four playoff fixtures which will now take place in Dubai.

With the stakes rising and the league heading into its most critical phase, the shift in location brings its own set of challenges. But Dubai is no stranger to PSL cricket, having hosted several seasons during the early years and the pandemic era.

The move is expected to offer a safe and neutral environment where the competition can conclude without further disruption. Whether the PCB also holds the Bangladesh series in Dubai following PSL 10 is expected to be answered soon.

As PSL 10 heads to Dubai, the league’s storyline takes on a new layer—one that goes beyond cricket, shaped by events far from the boundary rope. But there is hope that once the cricket returns, a sense of normalcy will prevail once again—even if it is for a few hours.
