The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has swiftly dealt with the extraordinary circumstances surrounding PSL 10 by safely escorting the foreign contingent taking part in the tournament, including players and broadcasters, out of the country.
The escalation of conflict between Pakistan and India forced the PCB to prioritise the safety of foreign players participating in PSL 10 above all else. In a carefully managed operation, foreign cricketers and broadcast personnel were flown out of Pakistan on a special air force aircraft to ensure nothing untoward happened. Sources confirmed that members of the international broadcast crew have also left the country.
PSL 10 was earlier reported to be moving to the UAE for continuation with foreign players on board before the PCB pulled the plug on the idea given the escalation of war between the neighbouring countries. The developments sparked a flurry of conflicting media reports—particularly from across the border—claiming that the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) had declined to host the remainder of PSL X in Dubai. However, these reports were quickly shot down by credible Emirati sources, who made it clear that the UAE had not refused to accommodate the tournament.
According to Emirati media outlets, senior figures within the ECB confirmed that no such denial was ever issued and that the board remains fully committed to supporting Pakistan’s hosting plans. In fact, no official decision was made to prevent the PCB from continuing the PSL in Dubai, where the final phase of the tournament is expected to be staged in the future.
With the foreign players safely out of the country, the PCB can look to plan the future of PSL 10 within an appropriate time frame.
