The Karachi Kings are set to receive a timely boost ahead of their final group stage match against Islamabad United at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium today. The team’s preparations have been complicated by recent disruptions, as the Pakistan Super League (PSL) schedule was thrown into disarray due to the India-Pakistan conflict.
In a positive development for Karachi Kings, New Zealand wicketkeeper-batter Tim Seifert has made his way back to Pakistan. Seifert arrived in Islamabad ahead of the crucial encounter and confirmed his return by sharing a photo from his hotel on Instagram, signaling his readiness to rejoin the squad for the business end of PSL 10.
The resulting political tensions led to a temporary halt in both the PSL and the Indian Premier League (IPL), with revised fixtures pushing PSL 10 into a condensed window from May 17 to May 25.
Amid these challenges, several international players, including a number of New Zealand stars, had left Pakistan as a precaution. Reports suggest that prominent Kiwi cricketers such as Kyle Jamieson, Mark Chapman, Daryl Mitchell, and Finn Allen are unlikely to return for the remainder of the tournament due to No Objection Certificate (NOC) issues.
